Meanwhile 200 people were butchered in Syria. Little children having their throats slit. But no one was talking about it because the topic of “she’s so-and-so, whatsits names girlfriend” was far more important.

Listen up, class. This is an example of classic derailing, using the “there are far more important issues” guilt trip tactic.

Guess what? It’s possible to care about more than one thing at once. World issues and women’s issues are not mutually exclusive.
